Raw materials
NOVONOL Acetone
Highly volatile, technical solvent with a specific odor. Acetone is a clear liquid that is mainly used in the coating industry as a solvent for resins and especially nitro/nitrocellulose lacquers. It also dissolves neoprene and adhesive residues.
NOVONOL Butyl acetate
(n-Butyl acetate; Acetic acid n-butyl ester)
Butyl acetate is a clear, moderately volatile liquid with a characteristic ester odor. It is miscible with all conventional solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers, aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its solubility in water is limited.
NOVONOL Butyldiglycol
Butyl diglycol is a clear, low volatile, mobile liquid with a very faint, mild odor. It is miscible with many common solvents, e.g. aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers and water. It can form peroxides on contact with atmospheric oxygen.
NOVONOL Butylglycol
High-boiling, low-volatility liquid with a mild odor, used as a solvent and starting material for syntheses. Excellent co-solvent in aqueous coating systems (water-based paints).
NOVONOL Cyclohexanone
Colorless liquid with a characteristic ketone-like odor. Cyclohexanone is miscible with most organic solvents.
NOVONOL Methoxypropyl acetate
Medium volatile solvent with mild odor. Contains no hydroxyl groups and has a good solvency for numerous resins and dyes. Its main applications are coatings and printing inks, where it can replace ethoxyethyl acetate in many cases.
